A2NZ Latex Floral Bodice

Oh, right, I hadn't blogged about it! I thought I had.

Remember my first tries with transparent latex last year? Even though I had been overjoyed about them to start with, I pulled the plug on them after a while, because once the excitement of the novelty had worn off, I wasn't completely satisfied with them. Mind you, I don't think they were bad. Just not what I wanted.

On the other hand, I'm definitely happy with the level of transparency I've achieved with this outfit:

Making clothes for Blue Mars in Blender: quirks

As some of you may know, I've been dipping my toes in Blue Mars. I think it has a lot of potential -- what attracts me there is that clothes are treated as dynamic meshes, not just as flat textures. The drawback to this is that the entry-level for creating content is higher than in SL, and it isn't helped by the lack of step-by-step tutorials on how to convert Blender files into something understandable by Blue Mars.

So, here's a few quirks I've noticed, that were not immediately obvious and got me go "uh?".Read more

Away for a week

Abyssin and I will be away for a week. We don't know whether we'll be able to log in into SL or not -- hopefully yes!

On another note:
The work about rebuilding and renewing our store is going strong. We've designed a new logo, we are working on new ads, and a new layout for the store.

Of course, all of this would be useless without new products... :) I'm testing new materials in Blender like crazy, and I'm having a lot of fun. I have good hopes that something wearable will come out of my experiments! :D

The future of A2NZ

As you may have noticed, Aby and I have both been absent from SL for a very long time.

After creating lots of clothes in 2008, to the point that it had become a second job, I suffered from burn-out. I tried coming back in 2009 for a spell, but it proved too much, too soon. After playing with a silent alt for a few weeks, I feel that it's now time for me to dip my toes into the content-creating side of SL again.

There's a big "but" to this: I don't want it to become a chore. I've had enough of this. It's not like my life isn't "chore-y" enough as it is, I don't need any extras, thank you very much. So from now on I'll only do things that I like, at the rhythm I like.Read more

Fingers crossed, it's my first blog post under the new blogging system. It's a bit more complicated than Blogger, so I hope I won't mess everything up! :p

This outfit is named after Affinity Moody, who inspired it. :) It is available in five colours: Bronze, Chrome, Copper, Gold and Iron. Bronze is shown below.

Welcome to our new self-hosted A2NZ blog

Welcome to our new blog.

We have moved off Blogger (a hosted solution) to custom solution based on the CMS called Drupal. It is a lot more powerful, but most importantly gives us the control of what happens, and what things look like.

The RSS feed has been moved over to the redirect to the new feed ( http://blog.a2nz.org/rss.xml ). I have limited the number of posts in the feed to just the new ones from today on, just in case, for those still getting the old feed.

Note: If there are any issues that need to be dealt with, please send me (Abyssin Otoro) an IM in-world.Read more

Yarrrr! Pirate Wench at the SLRFL Clothing Fair 2009

After a loooong hibernation (I must have been a bear in a former life), I'm waking up with the spring.

I'm very happy to be a part of the SL Clothing Fair for the RFL this year. I have made a pretty piratey lady. Ragged, torn, and stranded, and cute. :D
The benefits of the sale go to the RFL. The minimum donation for this outfit is 250 L$.Read more

Happy New Year

Happy New Year :)

After a short and unexpected break from SL (eh, the Christmas season was busier than I had planned), I'll be back in a couple of days. So in the meantime, I hope you had a nice Christmas and New Year's Eve, and that 2009 will be good to you. <3
